Landscape Design

the Sandhills

Gorilla Outdoor Design plans the whole yard before anything is built, so you see the patio, the walls, the planting and the lighting together, change it while it's still a drawing, and then Jake builds it.

Most yards get built one piece at a time, so nothing lines up, because nobody drew the whole thing first.

A patio goes in one year, a wall the next and the beds whenever there's time, so the pieces fight each other and the yard never looks finished. Jake starts with a 2D or 3D plan of the whole space, so every piece fits, and because he builds it too, the drawing is what you actually get.

  • Jake picks up his own phone.
  • Free quote, and you see the design before any work starts.
  • Design and build from the same person, not a designer and a separate crew.

Draw it once, then build it right.

  1. Jake walks the yard

You show Jake the space and tell him how you want to use it, and he looks at the slope, the sun and where the water goes.

  2. You see the design

Jake draws the yard in 2D or 3D, with the patio, walls, beds and lighting placed, and you change it until it's right.

  3. Free quote, then the build

Once the design is set you get a free quote, agree the number before work starts, and Jake builds what you saw.

A design only matters if it gets built,so here's one going in.

These are photos of Jake's own jobs.

Design questions

Every question here is one somebody actually asked on a forum or an inspection site, and each answer links to where it was asked.

Do I have to do the whole yard at once?

No. A lot of people build one piece at a time. The point of the design is that the first piece, like a patio, is placed so the next ones fit later instead of being torn out.

Is the design separate from the build?

Jake designs and builds, so you're not paying a designer and then hunting for a crew to follow the drawing. The person who draws the plan is the person who builds it.

Do you charge for the design?

The quote is free, and you see the design before any work starts, so you can change the plan while it's still a drawing. Call Jake at (910) 723-5180 and he'll talk you through how the design and the quote work for your yard.
